Profile

Veronika is a film director and comedian, born in Belarus and now a naturalized German citizen. She creates films that are poetic, socially relevant, and just the right kind of weird —the kind that makes you laugh when you probably shouldn’t. At 18, she left her hometown to begin a solo journey through Europe in search of her artistic voice. She received the Friedrich Ebert Scholarship for her BA studies in Germany and the DAAD Scholarship for her MA studies in London. Beginning with Art and Design in Minsk and later pursuing Media Design for her BA, her unconventional path taught her to merge mediums and see beyond the limits of a single art form. Her feature film I Can’t Change Anything received script development support from Hessen Film & Media, was selected for the Torino Lab, and pitched at both the Max Ophüls Film Festival and the European Film Market. Her short films and music videos have screened internationally at festivals including Comic-Con, Lichter Filmfest, FiSH Film Festival, Evolution Mallorca, and Interfilm Berlin. Her 16mm documentary It’s Not For Me will premiere with Girls in Film, while her music video work has been featured in Promonews, Kaltblut, and Shots Magazine. Constantly working across borders, Veronika uncovers fresh angles and hidden perspectives, bringing them to life with wit and originality.
