»September 5« leads the race as the most nominated film of the year – »Woodwalkers« also in the running for two Lolas

The nominations for the 2025 German Film Awards are in – and we’re celebrating 12 Lola nominations for »September 5« and »Woodwalkers«!

With ten nominations, »September 5« is the most nominated production of the year. Tim Fehlbaum’s thriller is competing for the coveted Golden Lola in the Best Feature Film category (Philipp Trauer, Thomas Wöbke, Tim Fehlbaum), along with nominations in the following categories:

Best Supporting Actress: Leonie Benesch
Best Director: Tim Fehlbaum
Best Screenplay: Moritz Binder, Tim Fehlbaum
Best Cinematography: Markus Förderer
Best Editing: Hansjörg Weißbrich
Best Sound Design: Lars Ginzel, Frank Kruse, Marc Parisotto, Marco Hanelt
Best Original Score: Lorenz Dangel
Best Production Design: Julian R. Wagner (Production Design), Melanie Raab (Set Decoration)
Best Makeup & Hair Design: Sabine Schumann

 

»Woodwalkers« also has reason to celebrate! The film is nominated for Best Children's Film and is also in the running for Best Visual Effects:

Best Children's Film: Corinna Mehner, Carolin Dassel
Best Visual Effects: Max Riess, Sven Martin, Bernie Kimbacher


Congratulations to all the nominees – fingers crossed for the awards ceremony on May 9! The show, hosted by Christian Friedel, will be broadcast live on ZDF’s media library at 7:00 PM and aired on linear TV at 11:30 PM.
