Mointainpark Wilhelmshöhe

Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe is regarded as Europe’s largest mountain park and illustrates how the art of gardening developed in Europe. Situated on a steep slope, the park covers 560 hectares and is famous for its unique variety of trees and plants – some of which are over 200 years old – as well as its museums and attractions. Another special feature is the way the water is staged on the hillside: in a spectacular display, it cascades down from the Hercules Monument over artificial rock formations, cascades and an aqueduct. Since 2013, the park, with its historic water features, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Many parts of the park have been preserved in their original state.

Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe is represented by Hessen Kassel Heritage. This organisation, run by the State of Hesse, develops exhibition concepts, guided tours and events for the museums, palaces and parks.
