Sea of Rocks (Felsenmeer)

The impressive rocky landscape of the ‘Sea of Rocks’ stretches down the Felsberg near Lautertal for just under a kilometre in frozen waves. This mystical rock formation is shrouded in a legend in which two giants are said to have pelted each other with stones during a quarrel. The sea of massive granite boulders stretches across the 514-metre-high Felsberg and is accessible from several points.

The Felsenmeer is a public site and is managed by the Lautertal Public Order Office. For filming permits and enquiries, please contact the town or district council.
