Behind the sun-drenched slopes of the Rüdesheim vineyards, the impressive Niederwald Monument stands in the Niederwald Landscape Park. The entire structure rises to a height of 38.18 metres and weighs around 75 tonnes. The monument commemorates the unification of Germany in 1871 and has been part of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002.
