Idstein

Idstein’s old town is characterised by half-timbered houses dating from the 15th to the 18th centuries, some of which feature elaborate carvings. There are also aristocratic residences such as the 16th-century Stockheimer Hof and the formerly stately complex of buildings in the upper Schloßgasse, featuring the Hexenturm and the castle. König-Adolf-Platz, with the town hall, Idstein Castle and the so-called Schiefes Haus, forms the centre of the town.
