Alsfeld Oldtown

Alsfeld’s old town covers a large area of contiguous historic buildings. Over 400 half-timbered houses spanning seven centuries reflect a wide spectrum of medieval and modern architecture. The transitions from the Gothic to the Renaissance are clearly evident in the old town. Narrow, winding alleys and idyllic squares also characterise the old town’s atmosphere.
