Odenwald

The Odenwald, a low mountain range stretching across southern Hesse, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, has its source in the green south of Hesse. The Odenwald exudes a fairytale-like mystique and entices visitors with its vast forests, romantic gorges, valleys and idyllic villages. A popular destination is the mystical Felsenmeer, a rocky landscape above the Lautertal valley. The highest peak in the Odenwald is the Katzenbuckel, which stands at 626.8 metres.
