Monte Kali in Heringen (Werra) in eastern Hesse is a large salt slag heap from potash mining. The slag heap is over 505 meters high and consists of over 200 million tons of salt. The mountain has been a popular tourist attraction for decades. The Werra Potash Mining Museum offers guided tours between April and October.
