Firmaneiplatz

Firmanei Square is one of the oldest public squares in Marburg’s city centre. Surrounded by the Firmanei campus, it is home to many university buildings, as well as the prominent Elisabethkirche, the oldest purely Gothic church in Germany. The square currently serves as a gathering place for students and tourists. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the Nordviertel weekly market takes place on the square. The square is also used as a venue for various city festivals.
