The Weidenhausen district in the city centre is considered Marburg’s second-oldest settlement. Situated directly on the left bank of the River Lahn, the district is characterised above all by Weidenhäuser Straße, with its half-timbered buildings, some of which feature magnificent wood carvings. Of particular interest are the numerous courtyards, which are often only hinted at from the outside. In addition to its restaurants and shops, the district is characterised by its proximity to nature. Northampton Park, the historic Grüner Wehr, the university’s sports facilities, as well as the new youth hostel and a campsite, round off Weidenhausen’s diverse character. Weidenhäuser Straße itself is approximately 380 metres long.

Weidenhäuser Straße is managed by the City Council of the university town of Marburg. For enquiries and filming permits, please contact the address below.
