Edersee

The picturesque Lake Eder is one of the largest reservoirs in Europe and captivates visitors for good reason. With its elongated shape, the lake winds its way like a snake through the wooded hills of the Kellerwald and is a sight to behold in all weathers. Waldeck Castle, built on the lake in the 12th century, offers sweeping views across the 27-kilometre-long lake and the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park, which forms part of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site of Primeval Beech Forests.
